Member of Parliament Demands Free Tickets for Stranded Islanders

Port Blair, May 05: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands while referring to the action initiated by A&N Administration to bring back stranded Islanders in mainland to Port Blair and also to send the migrant persons from the Islands to their native places in the present lockdown crisis inducted due to COVID-19 has brought to the notice of the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands that most of the stranded people are facing financial hardship and are surviving hand-to-mouth amid prolong COVID-19 situation.
Hence for them, it will be difficult to incur expenditure on tickets and food during the course of the transportation.
Therefore, Mr. Sharma has requested the Lt. Governor to provide tickets and food for the people on free of cost on humanitarian ground during the prevailing crisis of COVID-19.
